Preschool/Kindergarten Admissions Policy and Procedures

We are delighted with your decision to pursue enrollment in our preschool and/or kindergarten program.  If you have questions regarding any of the following steps, please feel free to give us a call.

In order to be considered for enrollment you must complete the following steps.  Seats will be filled from all applications received and not necessarily by order of application. 

• If desired, by appointment, the family may arrange for an introductory visit to Cornerstone to tour our facility and find out more about our school.
• The family shall submit a Preschool/Kindergarten Application for Admission with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a Registration Card, the non-refundable $50 Application Fee, and  a signed copy of the Parent/Student Contract agreeing to abide by the Policies of Cornerstone Christian Academy, observe the Dress Requirements and the Statement of Faith (We Believe...).

Once a completed application is received:

• By appointment, the student and parent shall meet with the Headmaster for an interview.  (Not required for candidates with older siblings already enrolled at Cornerstone.)
• By appointment, Preschool 4 and Kindergarten candidates shall participate in a visit to the classroom.  The student will participate up to the lunch period. The parent may remain in the class with the student through the first 30 minutes of school day and then return to pick up their child just before lunch.  
• Preschool 3 candidates are not required to participate in a classroom visit. 
• After acceptance, the Preschool 4/Kindergarten candidate, by appointment, shall meet with the classroom teacher for readiness assessment.  These assessments are generally scheduled at the end of the school year.
