Objectives

•    To develop study skills and student accountability.
•    To provide a clear and consistent support to the student in the use of the student planner.
•    To provide a 45-60 minute block of quiet teacher supported work time to begin/finish homework assignments.

Details

•    S.T.A.R.S is for children fourth through the eighth grade only.  Monday through Friday from 3:15-4:15 pm.
•    Maximum size of class is set at 12 participants.
•    Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for the year in order to maximize the outcome of the goals listed above.  A student may, however, enroll by the quarter or semester.

Cost

•    $190.00 per quarter S.T.A.R.S. only
•    $325.00 per semester S.T.A.R.S. only
•    $550.00 per year S.T.A.R.S. only   
•    $650 per semester Highlights & S.T.A.R.S. (See Highlights Registration Form for Highlights information)

Ways to Participate

•    A student may choose to join the S.T.A.R.S. program only and be dismissed at 4:15 at the rate stated above.
•    If a student is already signed up for Highlights, he/she may take advantage of the S.T.A.R.S. program but MUST commit to be in it for a minimum of one academic quarter. If a student does not seem committed to the program at any time, the teacher may ask the student to leave S.T.A.R.S. and return to Highlights.
