Two students, Cara Michaels and Taba Moore, received The President’s Award for Academic Achievement. This award is presented to grade 8 students that show outstanding educational growth, improvement, commitment or intellectual development in their academic subjects or success on standardized testing. Four students, Rianna Lane, Carla McLendon, Emily Ruseski and John Stacy received The President’s Award for Educational Excellence. This award is presented to grade 8 students demonstrating the highest academic success in the classroom.

In addition, two students, Rianna Lane (grade 8) and Jenelle Lane (grade 6), received the The President’s Volunteer Service Award.  This award is presented to individuals completing at least 100 hours of volunteer service.  Among other acitivities, the girls have volunteered at the Harvest Hills Animal Shelter in Fryeburg, ME for 3-4 hours faithfully each weekend since October of 2003.  They have rarely missed a weekend caring for cats and kittens, loving and socializing the cats to prepare them for adoption.    Each student received a personalized certificate, a pin, and a letter from President Bush encouraging them to continue their efforts.
